ARTIST: Team Picture

RELEASE: I

RELEASE DATE: 12/02/16

RECORD COMPANY: Unsigned.

UK based noisy five piece ‘Team Picture’ have just self – released a brand new two track EP entitled ‘I’ ahead of their anticipated full EP release later in the year. The band have been actively writing & recording since 2015 and their brand of psych-gaze induced fuzzy, lo-fi with hints of alt-rock are powerful enough to attract revellers from the old school gazing community but melodic & angry enough also to attract new school psych gazers too!

Both tracks on this two track release are worthy of your ears with ‘Phantom Limb’ being the stand out for me. It’s thunderous fuzzy verse progressions and soaring melodically layered chorus parts are impressive without being overbearing & the hazy vocal arrangements keep the listener interested! There’s also an underlying, highly addictive Synth progression that explodes half way through just for good measure. Pretty cool stuff!  ‘Air, Not Air’ shimmers within a hazy melodic reverberating whirlwind. It has interesting vocal effects, mesmerising synth swells and a pounding drum pattern. Musically reminiscent  of ‘Subpop’ era ‘Sonic Youth’ in parts ‘Air, Not Air’ is a snap shot of whats to come from ‘Team Picture’, going forward.

With gigs a plenty & a new full length EP on the horizon, Leeds based ‘Team Picture’ are a band that I will be keeping both an eye & an ear out for!

For fans of ‘Thee Oh Sees, Yo La Tengo & Deerhunter’.

‘I’ is available to download as ‘Name Your Price’ right now from: teampicture.bandcamp.com/releases
