NEW VIDEO PREMIERE | Sound Of Sputnik – Light Scheme (Fran Ashcroft Remix).

Sounds of Sputnik 2

This is the brand new single and beautifully produced accompanying video entitled ‘Light Scheme (Fran Ashcroft Remix)’ from one of our favourite bands here at Primal Music – Russian based ‘Sounds Of Sputnik’ & it’s a pre-cursor to the bands full debut album re-issue entitled ‘New Born feat. UMMAGMA’penned in for re-release on the 16th May 2016 via hallmark U.S. shoegaze label Moon Sounds Records.

The mesmerising ‘Light Scheme (Fran Ashcroft Remix)’ meanders within a hazy, swirling torrent of beautiful tone and shape as the track shuffles on its addictive drum patterns, immersing synth swells and soaring reverb drenched guitars. Shauna McLarnon’s ethereal vocal effortlessly circumnavigates the entire mix as the Fran Ashcroft’s psychedelically tuned fingers manipulate the sonic frequencies to create something magical.

The video was produced and directed by Latvia/UK experimental filmmaker Dariy Karyakin and featuring actors Nadine Andreeva and Egon Skakun.

The ‘New Born’ LP brings together Sounds Of Sputnik’s trademark mix of ambient post-rock and stunning noisy shoegaze with the swirling dreamscape inspired sounds of Canadian/Ukranian dream-gazing duo UMMAGMA to collectively create something otherworldly. The ‘New Born’ LP also features contributions by several legendary guests: drummer Graham Bonnar (Swervedriver/ Brian Jonestown Massacre) on ‘Overdrive’, and remixes by Malcolm Holmes (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark), psych rock producer Fran Ashcroft (Damon Albarn, Lords of Acid), Russian producers Morozov and Oleg Mezherovsky, and Brazil’s Mind Movies. British producer Marc Joy (Lights That Change, Primal Scream, Oasis, Bernard Butler, Mike Peters, Golden Fable) provided mastering support.
