Based in Isabela, Puerto Rico & Influenced by artists like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, The Cure & Ride ‘Un.Real’ (Pronounced in Spanish) became the first shoegaze band in Puerto Rico. Conceived after the death of MTV’s ‘Alt. Nation’ the band started in Isabela, PR with their first show at the legendary Longbranch Pub in 1995. It has continued over the years as a medium for Perez & company to create unrestricted music.
‘Kids Are Astronauts / Drones’ – Is the first single to be lifted from their forthcoming concept album entitled ‘Islands’. ” ISLANDS’ is a concept album. We have worked on a concept which marks the story of a main character from birth to the end of his life. Working music in those terms can be harder but at the same time more rewarding as your figure out mayor turning points in the characters life. We’ve been influenced by so much instrumental and soundtrack music that it only makes sense for us to merge Shoegaze into that to create ISLANDS ”
